Because I have some free time, I want to share with you something’s that we have experienced so far. My team is located in Varna, Bulgaria. We are about a 10 min walk from the Black Sea. When we arrived at the church early yesterday morning we found that we were in a fenced in building with an apartment above the church. There are two rooms with 3 beds in each, along with a morrow, desk and wardrobe closet. In the room I am in, there is a small balcony. We also have a small kitchen, and a living room like area. We have a mini fridge and a microwave. We all took showers, unloaded our packs and laid down for more sleep. We awoke to two men delivering coffee, tea and cups. We then went to a cafe across the street for lunch and then for a walk to the beach. At 3 pm, a man named Alexander came to show us around town. He brought us to a fresh food market. We enjoyed buying produce, and even a man who owned a stand gave us some watermelon to try and even offered us some whiskey. We declined he whiskey, but enjoyed the melon. We also picked up some bread, dried fruit and nuts and some cheese from a cheese store. On our way back we stopped by a HUGE Eastern Orthodox Church. When we went inside, it looked like a museum, but there was a baptism going. We started to take photos, but a woman told us we had to pay 6 lvs to take photos. A llv is about 1.42 to every American dollar. When we left, we went to the post office and then back to rest. We had dinner and then relaxed. I laid down for a nap and slept the night through. This morning we went to the church service where they introduced us to the congregation. We were given transmitters to hear a translation version of the message. after we went to to lunch at a local restaurant. We were given so much food, we took it back to eat at a later meal. Tonight we are traveling 30 mins away to visit the ministry site for this week. We will be ministering mostly to children. I look forward to sharing more about our ministry later this week.
