The most common question I have been asked about the World Race is about Nepal. It is well known that Nepal was one of the countries on my route. Since the earthquake hit Nepal in late April, people want to know if I was there at that time. The answer is “no.” I was there back in December. I did however know many people who lived there. We worked with 3 different ministries. One of the ministries is a local church. It is Pastor K’s church. We were blessed to partner with this church doing many Christmas related outreaches. One of these opportunities was to venture out to some villages in the mountains. We helped with a Christmas caroling program. It was here that I learned to dance Nepali style (though I was not feeling well enough to participate that night) Pastor K’s church supports a lot of ministry outreach in the communities around them. It was evident how much the love of Christ poured out of this group of believers. I still keep in touch with his wife, Bimala, who is a wonderful woman whom I treasure dearly. Since the earthquake, the church has collected many items to distribute to villages that are still in need. She has asked me to help support the cost of transportation for delivering these items. I am not in a place financially to help, so I said I would write a blog seeking others who would like to partner with them. I know there are a lot of people asking for help since the earthquake hit, but if you want to support the victims of the Nepali earthquake, you can partner with Pastor K’s church. I can assure you that the money you donate will 100% go to helping those in need. If you are interested in helping this church reach those still in need of supplies, you can contact me. You can either give directly to the church or send money to me and I will collectively send it to the church.
