Today I am honoring a man of God that has impacted my life directly and indirectly. Here is a shout out to man of God #9…

#9- Ron Walborn. Ok, so I am not close with him as many other people are, but he was my professor for Old Testament Lit while I studied at Nyack College. I didn’t do so well in his class either (I blame it on his inability to shut up during tests and quizzes!) But I LOVED listening to him teach. And even though I never had the opportunity to take his Personal Spiritual Formation (PSF) class, well actually I knew it was an intense class and opted not to. Which was probably a good thing, at that point in my life I wasn’t ready. But when I went back to a homecoming PSF reunion with my friend Karen Wirtz, I realized I had missed out on something great, and regretted not having taken the class. I was blessed to find on iTunes, some recordings of his PSF teachings he did at Delta Lake and have been deeply blessed since. I still wish I had taken the class, because it would have been more helpful than just listening to the podcast. But this man has truly been a blessing in my life. And while he isn’t perfect, he inspires people to truly seek after God and to know him more. My favorite podcast of his is called Healing Crushed Hearts. This one was my favorite because he dove into how important it is to minister to people in this world who are hurting, because that is the reality of this world today. If we can’t reach out to those who are broken and not looking the part of a Christian, then we fail to do what we are called as Christians to do. To heal a broken world through the cross. Praise God for a man such as this, that God has given him wisdom on training the next generation of Christians to have a meaningful impact on this world.
