As a growing child, I would get the most painful growing pains as I fell asleep at night! My dad was so gracious and kind to come upstairs, sit on the end of my bed, and rub my legs and help soothe me so I could fall asleep! By morning my legs would feel better and back to normal. Sometimes I would get the typical tease that I looked taller as I poured myself a bowl of cereal, I never believed them but I did laugh along!

Spiritual growth isn't always the same way. I strive to know Christ more, dive deeper in His word, be more like him (W.W.J.D.), be challenged by fellow Jesus freaks, and be a bright light for my maker! When I hear other people speak truths, know theology, have new perspectives or different spiritual gifts, I can have self-doubt and insecurities about myself and my relationship with the Lord. I can be jealous. I cry out to God, "Why can't I have what they have and how much they know?" This spirit of comparison can get in the way. I strive for what they have. Instead I just need to learn from my friends and add that knowledge to my brain.

This month I am learning that I am on my own spiritual journey, God and I are going to be tighter than we have ever been! It just takes time, patience, the Bible and a Christ like attitude. He has a beautiful plan for my life! I am going to learn, grow and be challenged, I just need to be diligent and willing! He wants my heart 100%! I give myself to Him, ready for change and growth, but willing to allow myself grace.

If you need wisdom – if you want to know what God
wants you to do – ask Him, and He will gladly tell you.
He will not repent your asking. But when you ask
Him, be sure that you really expect Him to answer, for
a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that
is driven and tossed by the wind. People
like that should not expect to receive anything from
the Lord.
James 1:6-8

I will give you the treasures of darkness
and the hoards in secret places,
that you may know that it is I, the LORD,
the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.
Isaiah 45:3

The steps of the Godly are directed by the
Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though
they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord holds
them by the hand.
Psalms 37:23-24
