Who do YOU follow?
That is the question we need to ask ourselves. With all the technology out there, we follow so many different people and different things, BUT is that what we are called to do. NO, it is not.
We can keep track of what our favorite Sports Hero’s, actors/actresses, famous people, the ones that want to be famous, comedians, ordinary people, friends, family and so on are doing. We can know what they are doing, at any given moment, but REALLY who cares? Besides our friends and family do you really care what Bill Gates ate for breakfast? Where Shaq O’Neal took his family on vacation? What Ryan Seacrest is doing with his busy schedule?
The answer should be NO for all of us. With all the time and energy that we put into following these people, we could be following the only one WHO matters and that is JESUS.
Jesus walked up to ordinary people (fishermen), just like you and I, and said “Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” Matt 4:19.
These men did not have degrees. They actually didn’t even make the cut back in the day to follow the local Rabbi around and went to work for their family businesses. God uses ordinary people to further His Kingdom and make fishers of men. We just need to follow Him and not people that do not matter.
