Hello and Happy New Year Friends and Family!

It has been nearly a year since my last trip with Adventures in Missions and I am grateful for all the beautiful ways I have seen the Lord work here at home in the United States of America.  I am excited about 2017 but I must say that I am so thankful for 2016.  I experienced so much love from God through the kindness of friends, family, fellow believers, and strangers.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers!  You are the blessings that remind me that there is beauty and good in every person and that God has created us all to love and be loved.

This picture was taken in January 2016 in Athens, Greece, on top of the hill where Paul said the words, “He [God] is not far from any one of us; for in Him [God] we live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:27-28)  This is one of my favorite parts of the Bible because it describes God’s eternal commitment to having a deep and personal relationship with all of us by showing us how we are His children and always have been.

In December I joined the blog team at Enjoy Life Apparel (ELA), a company seeking to inspire people to celebrate life and believe in the possibility of living their dreams at any age.  I believe that our dreams and passions are planted in our hearts by God to help us live a life deeply connected to Him and the people around us.  The ELA blog is meant to inspire people to enjoy life, believing that even in the midst of hardship and pain, we are meant to be the very best we can be.

Here’s an excerpt from our latest blog post.

“Part of the vision for ELA is to change the world for the better by recognizing the greatness inside of every person.  We’re starting off small, with one smile, one shirt, and one encouragement at a time, and we know that if we continue to believe in the vision, our brand will grow.   The same is true for your New Year’s resolutions; if you believe in the best version of yourself, all the small steps you take will matter.  If you wake up every day remembering the greatness inside of you, you will stick to your resolutions and reach your goals.

Believe in who you are right now.  Take time to see all the good inside of you today.  This will give you a clear understanding of the person you are meant to become and what it takes to get there.

Instead of resolving to change ourselves, maybe we should resolve to be ourselves.  We often compare our accomplishments and mistakes to those of others to determine our success in life.  But every person on this earth is unique so success should look differently for everyone.
