Hello Everyone!
Thank you all for your love, prayers and support! I have been so blessed and encouraged by all of you in more ways that I can express! I thank God for you because one of the things that scared me most about saying yes to the World Race was having to write blogs. Honestly all I could think about was the time in 5th or 6th grade when a boy from my class took my diary from my hands while we were on a field trip and read it out loud to the class while they laughed. I stopped journaling for 10 years after that day and I certainly have never shared my journal entries with anyone! God knew that this time would be different. I have often cried because of the love and compassion I have received from you who have been walking this journey with me from afar. No one has laughed in my face but rather sent hugs and cheers of encouragement through cyberspace and through the Holy Spirit express! I love you all so much.
I have until March 1st to reach my fundraising goal of $16,254. The one thing that terrified me more than blogging was asking people for money to support this trip. Again, I am so happy that I trusted God and all of you because I have been inspired by those of you who have donated to this life changing journey. I have been blown away by what you have already done and I want you to know that you are so apreciated and I uplift you on prayer! I have $2,673 left to raise in 22 days. I know it is not in God’s will for me to go home early. I see God’s goodness daily, I am bleasing others, you all and our ministry hosts are blessing me, and I am understanding a little more each day through this journey God’s purpose for my life. Thank you for what you have already done for me, my squad mates, and the Church in Malawi. Please help me finish the World Race by donating whatever you can. Even the smallest amount takes me one step closer to reaching the goal! If you cannot donate monetarily please continue to pray and even send me messages of encouragement if it is ever on your heart to do so. I value these forms of support just as much or perhaps more than I value monetary donations so don’t stop!
Thanks a million and God bless you always!
Love,
Kaiulani
P.S. The coolest thing happened today! This month we are cleaning out and refurbishing our pastor’s house here in Mongu, Zambia. In the pantry of the house I noticed boxes from Stop Hunger Now which is a food program that sends meals that are highly nutritious but do not require refrigeration to impoverished nations around the world. While in Chapel Hill, NC I helped package meals for Stop Hunger Now at Chapel of The Cross Episcopal Church. I looked closer at the boxes here in Mongu and saw that they came from Raleigh, NC!!! I pointed this out to the pastors here and they told me how grateful they are for the Stop Hunger Now ministry. Not only do the pastors eat the meals but so do the children in the local schools and orphanges! Rarely do we get to see the end result of the steps we take in the name of the Lord but God so lovingly showed me today how he has used me and my family at Chapel of the Cross as instruments! God is so good!!!!
