I have avoided writing this blog. I know that the moment I hit submit I will define and limit what happened at training to mere words. As if love can define the Creator of all, or evil define the absence of all hope. Likewise, joy is three simple letters that offers just a taste of what was gained from nine days spent at training.
V SQUAD–The official winners of the January 2011 squad wars!!
JOURNEY–The training in its self was a journey. We spent hours each day worshiping God, hearing stories of lives transformed, listening to narratives of racers who have gone before us, and hours upon hours of laughter. With four squads at training, we had over 200 very different people preparing to go on journeys that will change us all. With only two things in common: a deep love for God and a desire to see His Kingdom brought to the nations, I saw a glimpse of what eternity in Heaven will look like, and needless to say, I’m a fan.
FREEDOM–A dog that is never let off of its chain does not know that life without the chain is desirable or even possible. Likewise, I had chains of past and present that were keeping me from fully experiencing the freedom that a relationship with the Holy Spirit offers. During training the Lord broke the chains and allowed me to experience a freedom that I thought was only possible, “Somewhere over the rainbow, where dreams come true…”
UNITY–I went to training with the expectation of meeting my squad and leaving training having acquaintances with the potential of a few friendships. I thought that meeting over 50 other members of my squad would leave me overwhelmed and the unity I desired would take months of trials to forge. I was wrong. I have looked in the eyes of individuals who will be a part of my heart and life for eternity. I have heard the cries of God’s Kings and Queens who will join me in bringing the Kingdom to the nations. I have also gotten the chance to meet my team, TEAM F.I.T. (freedom in truth) which is comprised of five beautiful women who each uniquely bring value to the team.
