Just got access to WiFi and wanted to let you all know what we’ve been doing! Its been about a week and a half since I left home. After a couple days of training, an overnighter at the airport, and a day of traveling we finally made it to Nsoko, Swaziland. The country here is so incredibly beautiful. I’m currently looking out at a lake surrounded by different colored fields. Cotton fields lie to my right, full and ready to be picked. Dark green fields lie to my left, surrounded by light brown bush and tall trees. In the background are beautiful mountains that separate Swaziland from South Africa. As beautiful as the country is here, the people are even more so. They love, laugh, and smile so easily. What they lack in the physical things, they make up for in spirit. The joy of the Lord is truly their source of strength and daily bread.
The first day here my team and I went to explore where we were staying, and within minutes we were surrounded by 20 children, screaming and laughing with glee. They ran up with arms wide open and lept in to our arms. I have been held and snuggled during these last few days more than I can count. This is true of every Care Point we have visited. These Care Points provide these children with the one meal they have a day, education in English and math, and let them be kids and play. It’s a joy and an honor to help serve these children.
During the 3 mile walk down a red clay road to the Care Point my team and I have been assigned to, we pray over the road that we and so many children walk. And I hope that you will join me in that prayer. Pray that these children will grow up knowing that they are so completely loved and cherished by the creator of the universe. Pray that they will learn to walk in His footsteps. Pray for health safety for these children and their families. Pray that the joy and light in these children’s hearts will never fade, and that it grows more and more as they learn of God‘s love.
Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support. As long as the WiFi works, I plan to check in weekly and give an overview of all that God has done that week.
