Verse of the Month: “I will live among you, and I will not despise you. I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.” Leviticus 26:11

Favorite Food: Peanut Butter sandwiches! Ok, so not my favorite, but definitely the most frequent meal I had.

Hardship of the Month: I would say that the first week of ministry here was hard because I couldn’t feel God the way that I did in Romania. The difference is that Romania was really spiritually dark and the climate is a bit different here. God needed to be felt there. I know that God is not a feeling and so I just walked in that belief. And sure enough, the last two weeks have been amazing and I have experienced my Daddy is crazy ways!

Our Ministry: I got to play with sweet children everyday! Our ministry was amazing! My team was joined with two other teams and we ran a sports camp for the kids while they were on Christmas holiday. We played, fed, and poured life into them with the Word. I got to have some great one on one time with a number of kids… Whom stole my heart!

Cultural Moment: I wish I had a Rand (South African Currency) for every time I had this conversation with a child (ages ranging from 6-13):

Child: “Do you like children?”

Me: “Yes! Of course I like children! I love them!!”

Child: “Do you have children?”

Me: “No, I don’t have any. Not yet.”

Child: (Insert strange look) “And a man?”

Me: (Insert strange look and then a laugh) “No, not yet. No man.”

A woman my age would never be single and childless in Africa. Even the children of 6 years of age were shocked. I love their curiosity!

Favorite Moments: (1) I loved making fart sounds with Gregon. He had the cutest giggle after he would fart with his mouth and then point to me and say “It’s you!” in Africans. (2)  Telling my boy Marlin goodbye as he ran beside the van and reached for my hand. He held tightly, ran like the wind, and couldn’t stop smiling. (3) Dunking my teammate Ashley in the ocean as an outward expression of leaving her past behind. (4) Having about a MILLION deep conversations with the people living around me. (5) Sitting in my hammock and enjoying the love of my maker. (6) Worshiping and seeing Jesus in the room with two angels beside Him, all together worshiping Daddy like a wild man!

What God Taught Me: He taught me that He loves me. He loves my laugh, He loves when I dance, He loves when I sit in His presence, He loves when I joke, He thinks I am funny. He loves who I am… And He doesn’t want that to change. I am not perfect, but it doesn’t matter because He can’t stop dancing over me!
