Every month I am assigned a different ministry. This month, I go to a girls orphanage in the mornings and the burn unit in the afternoons. However, when you live in the Spirit, your plans tend to change.
Lauren and I hopped on our first bus to the plaza where we were to catch another bus to the orphanage. After we got on our second one, two mormon missionaries walked by and Lauren had a crazed look on her face. She said, “Oh my goodness! I saw those guys while we were driving on the other bus! I felt like the Lord wanted us to get off right then and talk to them, but I didn’t say anything. So, I said ‘Ok God, if I see them at the plaza, I’ll say something!”.
So I said, “Well let’s go! Let’s follow them!”. We then awkwardly exited the truffi and began following them (feeling like creepers). We followed them until we saw that they were getting on another truffi. Lauren and I just looked at each other for a moment, realizing this truffi would not take us to or destination (planned one anyways). Here’s the dialogue that followed:
Me: “Should we get on it?”.
Lauren: “I don’t know!?”.
Me: “Are we even allowed to not go to our ministry!?”
Lauren: “I don’t know!?”
“I don’t know” was as good as any yes. Without another word, we jumped on, finding there were just enough seats for the two of us. We weren’t quite sure where we were going, or when we would get off, but we were sure of one thing: God told us to, so we went.
We shared God’s love, truth, and faithfulness with a man named Elder Bond for 45 minutes. I could see the love of the Lord working in his heart. It was such a divine appointment.
We found ourselves arriving at the hospital, so we got off and prayed for Mr. Bond. We then went in and prayed for lots of sick babies, fed mentally challenged children, hugged attention starved children, and gave a homeless women our lunches.
