Lookin’ Like a Fool My Pants On the Ground

You remember when David danced naked in the streets before the Lord? Have you ever thought about doing that yourself? Yeah, me either… Until tonight.

Every night my team and I have “feedback”. Feedback is where we talk about our day, give constructive criticism, and speak life into one another. We started off shallow, moved to deeper topics, and ended up crying. This is the normal flow of feedback, and we love it.

I was the last one to shed some tears. Lauren, our talented/ Spirit-filled musician, thought it an appropriate time to lead us in some worship. We mirrored the flow of our feedback and started off slow with “Be The Center”. More tears came. We then took it up a notch and worshiped with “How He Loves”.

“How He Loves” is a phenomenal song. We started out, singing in different places of the room, in our own little bubbles. As the song progressed, we got louder and louder. God’s love came into the room and passion filled the place. We claimed God’s love over ourselves and the people we were going to meet, knowing that we will worship with them in Heaven one day. Our song then turned into simultaneous screaming. Prophecy and visions were thrown out there. Spinning and dancing came next, followed by a few of us standing on the beds, and I think even jumping went down.

In the midst of all the commotion, I happen to open my eyes and see Lauren playing the guitar… Pants-less. When I saw her, I immediately thought of David dancing in the street naked. I began praying out loud, and as the words flowed from my mouth, I found myself praying the following, “God! We thank you! We thank you that we can worship as we are! We thank you that can even worship you pants-less!”.

At this comment, I notice everyone looking around, trying to figure out who wasn’t wearing any pants. When Lauren was spotted, joyful laughter broke out. She tells us that the Lord told her to take her pants off and that it was very difficult while still playing guitar.

I then felt led to join her and my pants came off as well. Only a few moments later, we were singing “Undignified”. Before I knew what was happening, one by one, shirts and pants were coming off and flying across the room. There we were, vulnerable with all of our flaws, dancing exposed before the Lord.

This year, I’ll become even more undignified than that…

I snuck this picture… Lauren is not present for reasons mentioned above.

Can I just say that I love my team… What an honor to be undignified with them.

“And I’ll become even more undignified than this. Some may say it’s foolishness”
