My little man went home today… I definitely got teary eyed, but there was joy in my heart because it was only by the power of God that he was healed so fast. Of course, there’s more healing to go, but he is doing amazing. Today, Samuel was running and playing, no longer connected to his IV, laughing, drawing, playing with the others kids, had zero bandages on him, and I could tell that he was different… I know that God has taken hold of his heart. He even prayed with me over some of the other kids today. I know God loves his prayers.

However Samuel is not the only kid in the unit. There are many others; Many others that need prayer. Here are a few of them:

  1. Erika- She is a sweet 12 year old girl who is badly burned on her head and face. She also went home today, but she has more healing to go. Please pray that her hair grows back and that she will have self confidence returning to school.
  2. Carlos- He is 12 and he is burnt from the waist down. He has a great spirit, but I am not sure when he will go home. Many of the children are not allowed to leave simply because the parents cannot pay… So, the children are collateral. I have a feeling Carlos is collateral because he is doing perfectly fine. Pray that his parents have the money to come and get him.
  3. Wilmer- Wilmer is 12 and had his entire body burnt. The first day I was there, he was the one sitting on the stool trying to use the bathroom. The next day I was there, he was on oxygen. The third day I was there, his left arm was amputated. My stomach dropped when I saw him. Today, he is talking and doing better. However, he is quite depressed. Please pray for peace and joy in his life as he learns how to do normal tasks all over again.

There are many others, and sweet babies that need prayer. But more than that, I am praying for salvation. I am confident that all of these children will be healed and well, but  it is requiring a lot of faith on my part to believe that the Lord will care for them when I am gone. I just really really want them to know Jesus. I want to see them in heaven one day. I want them to say, “Remember when I was in the hospital!? Well, here I am now!”. I long for that day…

I leave in two weeks… But I know that my work is not in vain. I know that the Lord is faithful and rescues His children.

In Him,

Katalina

PS- God gave me a sweet opportunity to bless the kiddies. They LOVE colored pens. So, I bought each of them (3 kids) notebooks and colored pens. I have to say that they were literally jumping up and down when they saw them. Samuel gave me a precious picture today that he drew (below).
