Today we went out to the village in the middle of the day and spent 6 hours going from house to house praying for people. It was some of the longest hours I have spent in my life but it was filled with much gratitude and praises. We would sing worship songs, pray for God to do miracles and pray for blessings upon the people. We started out with prayer and started along our day of crying out to God to bless the people we came into contact with.
When we met the first person, he told us that he kept hearing voices in his head every time he prayed and when others prayed for him. We didn’t quite understand what we were praying for, but we did it World Race style, where we all pray together at once. As soon as we finished and a teammate closed up the prayer, we looked around at each other and kind of question what we just prayed for. We spoke with the pastor and asked him what was going on. The man that was prayed for told the pastor that he no longer heard voices in his head. He also told the pastor that when people would lay hands on him that they would hear the voices as well! I still don’t understand fully what the man wanted prayer for and what was going on in his life, but I do know that God answers prayers and that he is healed!
Later in the village we went to another house and as Sam was praying for someone, a man came running up to her asking for prayer. He wanted to have prayer for healing from his weakness. After she prayed, he did a sign across his face and said that he was feeling strengthened. Sam asked the pastor what the sign meant. He explained that it meant that he wanted to accept Christ as his Savior and to cast away all the evil spirits. He accepted Christ! We have a new brother in Christ my friends! That is a huge miracle!
Even though today was long, it was filled with many joyful blessings and the opportunities to be joyful and thankful for all that was going on.
