The common phrase that is expressed to us everyday is, “I see you, Mzungu! Mzungu! Mzungu!” that the children, and sometimes adults, will yell out with “million dollar” smiles and chuckles of laughter as we pass by.  It is always exciting to be received so well by a community of loving and thankful people.

A lot of our ministry this month in Kyabakuza, Masaka, Uganda, AFRICA has been incredible.  The family we are staying with is hosting their first ever World Race team!  We are so honored to be living with them this month because they are an example of what it means to serve and trust the Lord with all your heart.
Pastor John is a man that loves the Lord and has a heart for the people in his community.  He wants everyone to know the love of Jesus and to understand why it is so critical to have a relationship with Him.  He is married to his beautiful wife, Grace, who is a true servant.  She makes us some of the most delicious meals we have ever eaten, takes care of her children, worships and loves the Lord with all her heart.  We live with their 3 younger children, Gifti Natasha, who truly is a gift to the world.  She is so loving and passionate about the Lord.  She knows what it means to be a daughter of the King and how to ask Him boldly for anything.  Then there are the two younger girls, Babidia Melissa and Nakato Michelle, beautiful twins.  They bring me so much joy because, even though they are only 3 years old, they know how to worship the Lord through singing, prayers and dancing.  Pastor John has 3 older children that were from his first wife, and we had the privilege of meeting them and living with them for a few days when they each visited.  Gloria is the eldest and filled with so much love for the Lord and for others around her.  Peace, studying and working hard, knows what it means to have the Lord as the Center of her life.  Paul was such a blessing and so kind.  He is quiet, but he serves with all his heart.

Our ministry has consisted of door-to-door evangelism, attending Liberty Canaan Community Church and being involved in the Bible studies, intercession and prayer, and recreation nights of netball and football (soccer) with the church members and community.  We also visit villages nearby and a drive away where we visit other churches and participate in church services and worship, share the gospel with the community and tell them about the love of Jesus.  Other forms of ministry we have been involved in are spraying the farm animals for ticks, herding goats and feeding the pigs.

Some ministry happens unexpectedly.  Such as praying for a woman and her son as she faces the last few hours of life and attending her funeral the next day.  Some are more joyful where we attend a wedding or a high school graduation celebration.

The time we have spent in Kyabakuza has been nothing but incredible and heart changing.  I am so thankful to be here because not only are we seeing fruit from people choosing to make Jesus their Lord and Savior or living with a wonderful and godly family, but because God is changing my heart to be more like His.

So, until another time, my Bzungu, I am excited to live our last few days in Uganda and make the most of every opportunity before we leave.
