I was born with a cancerous heart.  I did not know if I would ever be healed.  It was not until I was 7 when my heart was made new again.

I was born with a heart that was filled with selfish desires, greed, impatience, envious, boastful, conditional, unkind, proud, rude, easily angered, did not trust, did not hope, did not persevere, kept a record of wrongs, idol worshipper, failed again and again, grudging, unforgiving towards others and myself,

It was when I was 7 years old when my heart was made new one night at Vacation Bible School.  It was the night I believed that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to come live a life on earth as a man.  He lived a perfect life.  He died on a cross and suffered the wrath of the Father by taking all of man’s sin. He defeated death! Jesus Christ rose from the dead 3 days later.  Jesus loves me so much, this I know, that He gave up His life so that I could live with the Father for all eternity!

However, I continued to fill my heart with desires of the world.  I filled it with my own desires; bitterness; intimacy before marriage; did not protect; deceitful; untrusting; gave up quickly;  lies of unworthiness, not beautiful, not precious or pure, small, weak, timid; worshipped myself and others; grudges; unforgiving; loved only when others loved me back; safe.

It was not until I was 22 years old when I believed that my heart was made new and there was Freedom.

A picture was once painted for me.

We all stand in our prison cells, chained to our brokenness and sins.  We have thoughts of fear of never getting out and being trapped in this dirty cell for all of eternity. The chains are strapped to our wrists and ankles, the cell door is locked and shut tight.

When we open our eyes and look down at our wrists and ankles, we see that the chains are broken off.  When we look at the door, we see that it is wide open.

However, we continue to live in disbelief and keep our eyes closed.

Jesus came to break the chains off of us, to release us from the prison cell.  We continue to live in the life of bondage because that was all that we knew.  We don’t trust that Jesus really came to die on the cross and break us free from the bondage of sin.  We cry out “I wish I could be free! I wish I was free!”

We are FREE!  Christ broke the chains the moment He died for us.  He loves us so much that He chose to be separated from the Father and die a criminal’s death on the cross, even though He was innocent.

Why are we still walking around like we are chained down to our sins and forever trapped in a life of sin?

Let’s start living a life that shows that we are Free!

For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creathed thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:37-39

Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of Your unfailing love.
Psalm 6:4

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

because, if you confess with your mouth that Jeus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

But now He has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation.
Colossians 1:22

I love you all dearly.  Thank you for all of your prayers, encouragement, and support!  You are all huge blessings!

Love, Kaitlyn Michele
