Today I sat in church listening to a sermon about resting. Resting is something that I have seemed to forget to do. This kind of resting wasn’t the type of rest that I usually think about – the I’m tired so I need some sleep rest or I am going to take a break and go on a vacation to rest. But rather this kind of rest was resting in Christ – a true rest. A rest from pain, sickness, stress, sin, death, loneliness, and so many other emotions this world burdens us with. It’s a kind of rest that allows us to remain obedient to Christ.

Being reminded of this type of rest reminded me of my own lack of rest. As I have become overwhelmed with all that is going on, whether its working, fundraising, hanging out with friends, Young Life, and everything else, I find myself too busy to rest in the one that provides me with calmness, joy, healing, energy, forgiveness, happiness, and so much more! How is it that I allow time to limit my ability to spend time with only one that allows me to truly rest, to take on my burdens, and listen to my prayers?

My goal this week is to truly rest, not from what must get done but resting in Christ. Spending time with my father and allowing him to be in control. It is a daily struggle to give up control even to the One I know knows best.

*Fundraising*
As the first deadline approaches on July 1st, I am still a long way from my goal of $3500! And even further from the total $15,500. I know this is what the Lord is calling me to do. I have faith that He will provide. If you would like to financially support me, you can:

1. Credit and Debit Card– Click the "Support Me!" link on the left on the left hand side of my blog homepage.  Obviously, this is mighty convenient.  You can even set up an automatic monthly payment.  The drawback is that it requires a third-party service that charges a fee.  5% of what you give using a credit or debit card online is taken out by the financial institution and will not go to me.

2. Bank Draft– Click "Support Me!" link on the left hand side of my blog homepage. The funds come directly out of your bank account rather than through your card.  This method is also easy and convenient.  It also requires a fee to be paid to a third-party processing company.  With a bank draft, the processing fee is 3% going to financial institutions.

3. Check by Mail-It's also possible for you to mail checks to “Adventures in Missions.”  All the information needed is on the support card included in this mailing.  This method may be a bit inconvenient, but there is no processing fee.  100% of your donation goes toward the trip & none to financial institutions.  I can instruct you where to send a check if you chose this option.

4. Hand deliver or mail check/cash donation to me- You can simply give me the check or cash donation and I will be sure that it gets sent to go towards my account at Adventures in Missions and saves you all the hassle of mailing or going on the internet!

5. Your prayers are greatly appreciated! Without prayer nothing is possible but in Him all things are possible!

God Bless! heart
