Sarah and I were extremely excited to finally wash our clothes in a washer and dryer, after a month of hand washing our clothes in a bucket… little did we know that the worn off label of the package that was not in English to begin with said bleach NOT detergent. After pouring the detergent bleach in the already started washing machine I quickly realized what had been done, as I watched my newly purchased, circa 2010, 2 dollar, J. Crew shorts change colors. Sarah & I quickly began to grab all of our things out of the washing machine to find our newly discolored clothing. The sole jacket I brought for the race is no black with burnt orange spots and Sarah’s gray cardigan has similar spots. There were a few casualties but Hey, it’s the World Race! Who cares what we look like, right? At least I have a pair of painting shorts!
