I don’t even know how to wrap my head around the events that have happened over the past 2.5 weeks! Where is the time going!? I leave for Georgia in 4 days! And then only 6 weeks until Guatemala! It is all so surreal.

The past couple weeks have been a complete team effort between Jessica and I! From serving pancakes to collecting and selling items at our garage sale! Both events were a complete success and blessing!

The Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser was a blast! I am still amazed at the amount of support we got! But who doesn’t like pancakes!? 😉 We couldn’t have done it without the help we got from those who came to serve the food!  Most of the girls that helped us were girls that had attended Young Life club while they were in middle school – now they are in high school and driving! Its crazy! My parents and aunt were also a huge blessing and major help! I cannot thank everyone that came to eat and/or help enough!

Garage Sale. Yard Sale. Fundraiser. Whichever you’d like to call it! Whew! I am glad it is over! Or is it? The past week was filled with at least 5 hours every day of organizing, gathering, selling, preparing, or pricing things for it. I never knew how extensive and exhausting garage sales were! And we are doing it again! Well kinda… Jessica’s mom has so kindly offered to help us do it again this upcoming weekend while we are gone. There are soo many people to thank! First, thank you to those that donated their things to us! Second, my aunt and uncle! They allowed us to take over their entire garage and yard to hold our sale! Third, those that contributed their delicious treats to our bake sale! Fourth, My mom! She spent the entire week helping Jessica and I! She made cookies and brownies for the bake sale, she organized, she made us lunch, she rummaged through the house for things to contribute, she cleaned, what didn’t she do!? Finally, thank you to those that bought things, donated, or hung out with us! I am pretty sure if I were giving a thank you speech at the Oscars my time was up a long time ago. I would have to say the most amazing part of the garage sale was meeting people from the countries I will be going to! We met a couple from Kenya that go to garage sales to send clothing and shoes to their friends and family back in Kenya!! We got all their contact information and the name of the church they attended growing up in Kenya. How cool would it be to be able to visit it!? We also met another couple from Honduras! It was extremely exciting to hear about the beautiful places and generously offered us dinner with their family. The generosity of people continues to astonish me!

What a blessing!

Tomorrow, I am going to REI… This will be my first real REI experience. Ohh boy! The inevitable has finally come! 🙂

Much Love.
God Bless.
