At Training Camp, our Squad of 51 was split into teams. This core group of individuals will be the ones who I travel with. They will be the ones I rejoice with, cry with, disciple, learn from, pour into, and love as best I can while serving people all over the world!
*TEAM PERISSEUO*
(L to R) Brittany, Madisson, Kyle, me, Bri, Jake & Katie!
Our team name comes from Romans 15:13
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."
Perisseuo (per-y-shoo-o) is the Greek, meaning “to abound,” “superabound,” & “overflow.”
We desire to make this part of our everyday on the Race– pouring into the lives of others, remembering we must be fed, giving adequate attention and affection to the Word and purpose the Lord has for us each and every day. So that our cups are full and running over. We may then overflow into the lives of everyone we come into contact with, knowing Christ’s love is full in our hearts. All we can do from that point is ooze Jesus.
Our first adventure on a train tressel Our first outing as a team, trip to Sonic!
All dazzled up for Squad Wars! A- Squad!
Kyle (our team leader)
So thankful to have him as our leader! He knows how to lead, but also how to serve, to listen, to seek understanding and let the Lord be his guide! He’s humble, very respectful and when he speaks– profound things flow. He also enjoys adventure and soaking in the beauty of God’s creation! He’s a Colorado native and is a rafting guide. [Only to make the thoughts of rafting down the Nile River an even more realistic possibility!] Kyle graduated from Colorado State with a degree in Sports Medicine.

Sweet Brittany is our Oklahoma gal! Brittany graduated from Oral Roberts University and has spent time teaching in the classroom. She has a genuine passion for missions and has been going and serving since she was very young. I feel comfort in my soul whenever she’s around. I’m so thrilled to learn from her! She has a very sweet spirit & is wise beyond her years. I feel there are so many wonderful things I’m going to learn from her.

A favorite scripture- “All this is proceeding along lines planned all along by God and then executed in Christ Jesus. When we trust in him, we're free to say whatever needs to be said, bold to go wherever we need to go. So don't let my present trouble on your behalf get you down. Be proud!” Ephesians 3:12

Jake
Even from my first conversation with Jake, he had me laughing. Jake has lived in various places, but calls Chicago home. He recently graduated from North Central University in Minnesota. Jake knows how to bring life to a conversation, and encourage you. Joyful. Spirit-filled. Knowledgeable.
Random Fact- Has watched the entire series of Friends in order in one weekend
A favorite scripture- “In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
1 Peter 1:6-9

Madisson
My fellow sweet southern lady! We had a mutual friend even before WR! She studied physical therapy at Clemson University. From the get-go I was stoked about having Madisson on my team for the simple encouragement of the joy she brings and takes with her wherever she goes. I’m excited about the life she will bring to the group. I feel she is a crayon box to our coloring book.
Random fact- She’s eaten a fried bumble bee
A favorite scripture- "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you."
John 15:18-19
