Sometimes I just like to play guitar.  As previous blogs would attest to that, I just like sitting and playing in a quiet place alone and coming up with random lyrics that strum well with the chords.  It makes perfect sense.  And considering the last week we’ve been together, I’m one of 7 women in a room, you need space at times.

Christy & Phillip—our legit 4 month wonder Squad Leaders taught us a lot even from the beginning at training camp. Like I told them at one point, they were like super heroes to me, because they had survived the world race, and when you’re at the beginning of that block you think it’s a long time coming. But they were phenomenal, and encouraged us a lot.

One thing that they have inspired in us is WORSHIP.  From the “Fa Na Na” song that started at training camp, which they learned during their time on the Race in Africa, to falling asleep on my first night in Tanzania to “Every Day” which they recorded encourages me more in such HOPE!

Christy—THANK YOU for teaching me “The Nations are Calling.”  I’ve sang it several times here in Tanz.  I try to flee away to a sweet quiet place to play music and it only draws people in, because it’s a Muzungo playing a guitar.  And here are these sweet kids that are drawn to the chords.  They come up with dirt on their skin and torn clothes and I just sing over and over again, altering the lyrics slightly for them, “You are loved you are found, you are WORTH it.  You are free you’re redeemed and you’re chosen.  New life’s coming to the surface…” Etc.  And I just imagine you sitting by my side rejoicing joyfully with me, getting to sing sweet songs of deliverance over these children.

I’m also working on writing my own song(s).  Thanks for inspiring us to live a lifestyle of worship, because we are worship.  Our being is worship.  The Lord inhabits the praises of His people.  He’s a rear guard in our midst.  Our instrument is our whole body.  The Lord promises and He fulfills.  You reminded us of these things & that He’s planted eternity in our hearts.  We're being romanced by the King of the Ages as we’re falling in love with the Holy Spirit.

I pray that you continue to sing out your song as He opens up the heavenly places.

THANK YOU both for– For speaking our identity in Jesus over us.  You have a Spirit of STEADFASTNESS.  You have enabled our minds to be saturated with the truth of glorifying God in complete freedom reminding us that love always prevails.  You delight in the word and truth and have spoken that life & truth into us.  THANK YOU for choosing to love us.  Choosing to let love be a verb.  Thank you for preferring us.  For fighting for us through all circumstances.  For being the heartbeat of Jesus.  For prophesying words of the Lord over us.  For being grounded and rooted in love, established in faith.

I love and appreciate you!  Know that your sweet traditions of singing sweet love songs to us from Papa will carry on.  There are so many people that are coming to claim their identity because of your choice to voice truth and speak truth into our lives.  Thanks for ALWAYS believing in us and trusting the Lord.  Our lives have changed because of you submitting your lives to the Father.

We miss you in Africa. 🙂

Can’t wait to see you in Thailand or Cambodia!!
