Lord, you are SO good to me.

This past week was Training Camp. I had an incredible opportunity to meet people who have already been on the race and people who are becoming and will become my family over the next 11 months.  We had various challenges, extensive time for team bonding and beautiful times of worship and learning which elicited freedom in our hearts.  This time enabled us to see God uses us for His kingdom even when we don’t have it all together.  We just need to be fully willing to chase after His heart and His people with all that we have, even outside of our comforts.

I had finally begin to get over the question of, “is this REAL life (the thought of this truly happening),” and entering the ocean of “this is who I’ve been created to be, and these are the people I’m going with, that will grant me grace, encourage me, and people I’ll also be offering love to and pouring into.”

I couldn’t be more excited!

To say I have no worries would be a lie. But I’ve just let it flow from my heart, pouring out a song from my heart.

The universe, stars and constellations have always been something I’ve been fascinated about.  Being in the Tennessee mountains, under a blanket of stars at night– I couldn't help but get caught up in the beauty of Creation that surrounded us!  I'm even from a town named Star. 🙂 I'm in awe of how huge these stars and planets are.  How many earths it would take to fit into the sun, and just how SMALL I am in comparison of it all.

In reflection this past week, I remembered the passage where Job was in conversation with God.  God made his power known by asking Job,

“Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades
or loose the cords of Orion?” [Job 38:
31]

The Pleiades is a beautiful constellation, 440 light years away. 1 light year = 5.88 trillion miles.

Every second a star is being formed in the universe.

To me, this establishes God’s almighty power in comparison to Job’s own weaknesses, quite like my own.  Often it takes humble faith and sincere obedience when you have less clarity to recognize that our Lord is the only guide you need by day or night.

“It is he who made the earth by his power,
who established the world by his wisdom,
and by his understanding stretched out the heavens.” Jeremiah 51:15

Beyond all my own thoughts, my control, my comfort is a God who laid the foundations of the earth, the constellations, our solar system– and even knows the depths of my heart, my struggles, the hairs on my head, my strengths and my weaknesses.  He has created in me a heart that desires to be like His.

And, so I go.
