One of the biggest challenges of the Race I have faced so far is fundraising. It has truly forced me to get out of my comfort zone. I have never been good at asking others for money regardless of the reason. But I have recently realized that asking for money is not what fundraising is really about. It is about being surrounded by people that are willing to support you and your dreams; it is about being able to call upon the community around to show you support.
With that being said fundraising is still no easy task. Fundraising calls for being vulnerable, it has required me to put myself and my story out there. I have really been pushed to open myself up to the people around me. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
