After the last post, you all know that I had a little accident and hurt my leg.
Well, I am happy to say I have been healed! It’s only by the healing of Jesus that I am able to walk and function without the use of the crutches!
On Thursday of last week, we were finally able to meet our ministry hosts, Mr. Kumar and Mrs. Josephine. We hung out with them and chatted. They shared their vision of the ministry and what is or isn’t okay to do/wear here. And then Mrs. Josephine and I went in the other room to discuss finances and lodging things. At the end of the discussion, she asked if she could pray for my leg. So naturally, I told her of course!
The next few minutes were some of the most intense moments I’ve felt on the race. Her words to God were so powerful. She was praying over me and saying things as if she had known me for years. And I could feel every word she said. It’s really hard to put this feeling into words. But as she was speaking, I had the utmost confidence that I was about to witness a miracle.
At the end of the prayer, I thanked her and we parted ways. That night before I went to bed, my ankle still appeared to have a baseball living inside of it and it was covered in purple-ish bruises.
The next morning, I rolled over to my belly, a position that for the past week and a half would have sent me into excruciating pain. I shot up and slithered out of my sleeping bag as fast as possible. I began to examine my ankle and noticed there was almost no swelling, the bruising was minimal, and I could move it with almost no pain! I smacked awake Sydney who was on the sleeping pad next to me and together we further examined my ankle. She told me to get up and see how it felt to stand on it. I stood on it and took a few steps. It felt fine, so I emerged from the room to share with the rest of the team this healing miracle!
When sharing the story with my best friend, she asked me if I shouted or cried. I told her no, I smiled and rejoiced. But furthermore, I simply walked.
It’s crazy how in life some of the simplest things can be taken for granted, such as the ability to walk. The ability to move and go places and do what you want. This little mishap has put some things back into perspective, some things I had forgotten.
So be thankful for all that you have. But don’t forget to walk. Walk in the light. Walk in the love of the Lord. And be sure to not forget it!

Kaitlin
