Hello everyone! I am well into week 1 of ministry at Vida Joven (Young Life) in Nicaragua and loving every moment of it. We are on top of the mountains near Matagalpa, Nicaragua on a base that spans approximately 150 acres. They have coffee fields that they maintain and the coffee is some of the best in the world! They sell the coffee in order to help send kids to the camps they host here. Each bag sold pays for one kid to go to camp for one day. So if you’re interested in this amazing coffee, check out beyondbeanscoffee.com!
Our ministry this month will be a lot of physical labor and our task this week has been to shovel the mud out of a ditch that helps water drain down the mountain. It’s been exhausting, but rewarding! It’s amazing to see the complete progress of a project.
So that’s the first part of this blog title, and you may be intrigued about the rest. Yesterday afternoon after lunch, my team was about to head back up to shoveling when a group of motorcyclists rolled in. After meeting all of them, we found out that one man had wrecked is bike and needed help cleaning some wounds. Knowing I had previous experience, they asked me to help and I was blessed to have this opportunity.
That’s when I met Red. (See picture below). He is an amazing man, with a few bumps and bruises, who loves Jesus. And that encounter with Red meant more to me than he knew. Together, we got his wounds cleaned up and had a great conversation. Even got to make him a sling out of a sheet. I thank God for His timing and that this opportunity was presented. The entire group of men were a blessing to meet. We got to learn a little more about them and found out that they are part of a ministry called, Christian Motorcyclist Association. They were here in Nicaragua giving motorcycles away. If you want to learn more about them and their ministry, check out wwe.cmausa.org!
