ad·dic·tion
?’dikSH?n/
noun
noun: addiction; plural noun: addictions
1.
the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity.

What am I addicted to?

Well I’m addicted to many things. But what does it mean to be “addicted”? The actual definition states: physically and mentally dependent upon a substance. While my addictions may not be substances, they are, however, the most important parts of my life. And the drive and reasoning behind everything that I do.

The first one is love. Love of my family, my friends, peers, co-workers, strangers, animals, and life. But especially my love of God. Through Him, all things are possible.

The second addiction I have is to my family. They are my everything and without them I wouldn’t be who I am today. Without their support, the World Race wouldn’t even be an option. Through them, I can share the love and blessings I have
.

My next addiction is my friends. My other support system. These are some of the most amazing people I’ve met throughout my 21 years and I absolutely can’t wait to share this next journey in my life with them.

The final addiction I have is to helping people. No matter what it is, I would do anything to see everyone happy. Whether its service work, mission work, or simply telling someone they’re beautiful, I want to see that change and impact on people.

That is one of the reasons I am so drawn to the race. The idea of getting to meet numerous new people and have an impact on them through God is greater than anything else I could ever imagine. I simply can’t wait for this journey to start. These addictions I have are what drive me through each and every day. They will also be what gets me through the race; through all the hardships, homesickness, moments of amazing grace and love, they will be there to push me through.
