A third of my race is over. That’s insane. I haven’t been in America for 3 months, I honestly never thought I would say that. These three months have been ones of growth, community, servanthood, newness, uncomfortability, craziness, and movement. Things on the race don’t stay the same for long. Our schedule changes from day to day, we are in and out of cities and countries. I’ve already learned so much from the past three months.
So here’s a little list of things I’ve learned:
– Nothing on the Race is ever easy (@Kirsten)
– Don’t depend on a plan your host gives you, because it will probably change in 20 minutes
– Communicating with people that don’t speak your language is hard
– But definitely worth it
– Buying into everything the Lord has, makes everything better
– Worldracers like the song “Reckless Love”
– How to make Pan de Pascua (a recipe I will never forget)
– How to successfully fit 8 people into one room, and live there for a month
– How to sneak chocolate from Europe to South America
– Harry Styles is popular everywhere
– When you say you’re American, you need to specify which America you are from, because there is a South and North
– Homesickness is real
– The States have the best wi-fi, I have yet to find any as good as we have it
– Traffic lights and stop signs are not really super important
– Following the speed limit is optional, if there even is one
– Living with 7 other women is So. Much. Fun.
– How to sew a pillowcase & handbag
– How much the Lord loves me & you, and everyone
– Being present is the best way to be
The Lord has already showed me so much and I cant wait to see how He’s going to teach me through the rest of the 6 months!
Thanks for reading! Until next time,
Chao!
