PHOTO OF THE DAY!
Right next door to where we are living, is an old library/cinema. This statue sits right out front. The owners of Mission Possible (the organization were partnering with this month) is planning to buy it soon, to have another property to use for camps.
We were asked to go help clean the property, so excitedly we went over. They always have loud pop music blaring outside, which we thought was odd for a library, but its good music so we don’t complain. When we walked inside we were taken to the Library right away to view it. It was so cool, because most of the books are dated back to the 1940’s and you can see how worn they were. They also had a ton of old pictures of people back in the day, when this library used to be the place to be!
After, they took us down to the cinema, which was actually a very nice theater! It brought me back to my dance performance days, and was so cool to see how much this town loves art and creativity.
Once, we got the full tour of the building, we began to clean for them. We cleaned out their window seals, and wiped the windows. We dusted off chairs, and swept the floor.
Sometimes I wonder, what people must think of us. We are some random Americans who are offering to clean for them, for no other reason than to bless them. They must think were crazy, but I’m sure they wonder why we are doing all of this as well.
They know we are partnering with Mission Possible, a Christian Organization, and I know Jesus is meeting and reveling himself to them through their wonder about us. It is just so cool how God can work through us just giving up a couple hours of our time, to help them through cleaning. We are going to continue visiting this library, to get to know everyone there better, and continue to bless them in whatever way we can!
