Every racer at some point or another has asked themselves the question, "What will training camp be like?" Every racer probably has had a vision or expectation of what it was also. Even if they didn't mean to! I know I sure did.. I'm here to put all those expectations to rest. Training camp will be nothing like you expected!

Before camp, I would try to ask everyone I could about what it was like and what happened. I mean EVERYONE. Friends, alumni, anyone I could. But no one really gave me any information. They all told me the same thing, "you will just have to wait and see for yourself!" At the time, this frustrated me to no end. Looking back, I am super glad that I didn't have a bunch of information going in.

That being said, I am not going to write too much in this blog about what actually happens during training camp, because it IS an awesome experience to not know and just rely on God the entire week! What I will tell you is what happened at training camp IN ME.

At the beginning of the week, I had no idea that I had so many unanswered questions, and so much baggage bottled up inside me. By the end of the week, that all changed. On of the most important thing I learned on the race was that IF YOU ASK, GOD WILL ANSWER.

Here are just a few ways that God spoke to me this week!

1] I learned that no matter what you've done in the past, the past does not describe you. All you have to do is ask for forgiveness, and sincerely mean that you will do better. Do not let your past define you. It will just become a burden on your heart that you do not need to carry, when Christ is offering to take it off your hands.

2] It doesn't matter where you came from, it is where you are going. Everyone has a story. Everyone came from a different home life. But it is how you choose to rise above what has happened to you, when you learn to overcome that and be greater from it! God uses the most messed up people, with the hardest testimonies to reach those in need, because sometimes it easier for those people to relate to those who are hurting!

3] I am never alone. Not only will I always have best friend in Christ, but now I have 38 new brothers and sisters with the same love for Christ as I do. Not only that, but we all share the common goal of spreading the love of Christ to all the nations! What an amazing feeling it is to be loved by people who were once complete strangers, and now to be a family named X-Squad!

4] Be open to what the Holy Spirit is trying to do in you. At training camp you are going to experience new ways of worship, and new ways of being spoken to by the Lord, and the only way to fully experience what He is trying to do THROUGH you, is to allow Him to do what He needs to do IN you! There was one night I was praying to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and all of the sudden I just started bawling like a baby. [No, I am not to proud to admit that I weep before the Lord!] And what an amazing feeling it is to have people care enough to pray with you and for you!

Of all these things I learned in just one week at training camp, I can't even imagine what tremendous things He is going to do in 11 months on the race! I am beyond ecstatic, and I cannot believe I am blessed enough to be called on this amazing journey! How great it feels to be a child of the Lord!

WITH ALL THIS BEING SAID, I am still $842.00 short of reaching my second goal of $6,500 to be able to launch with my squad and team in September! I have approximately 4 weeks to reach this goal! I know it is beyond possible, because with God all things are possible! I need your help!
