I have been away on this trip for 3 months now, and people still think it is a vacation. Hopefully this blog will be able to clear that up for you.
Yes, the world race is exciting. Yes, the world race is fun. Yes, the world race is a chance to experience so many different things within the course of 11 months. But no, the world race is NOT a vacation. The world race is an opportunity to carry out God’s calling in your life to advance His kingdom, and spread to light of Jesus to some of the darkest places in the world.
In the short three months that I have been on this race, I have seen so many lives changed just by being the hands and feet of Christ. People have given their hearts to the Lord, people have rededicated, people have come to develop deep intimate relationships with Him, and so have I. I’m not only on the world race to change other people’s lives, but my own as well.
Without further ado, here are just a few reasons why you should deeply consider sponsoring me on my race!
1. PEOPLE’S LIVES ARE BEING RADICALLY CHANGED.
Whenever a world racer walks into a place, there is an opportunity to change someone’s life. Whether it be just praying for them, leading them to know God, or just giving them a hug that they so desperately desire, our goal is to make someone feel loved.
Example: While in Ethiopia, a woman with a skin irritation that made the pigmentation in her skin a variety of colors asked me to pray over her. She said that she had been called ugly and she was very sad, and had no money to go to the doctor. I gladly took hold of the ladies hands and prayed for her. I told her that Jesus thought she was beautiful because He made her in His image and He loved her that way. I also assured her that I thought she was beautiful, especially on the inside, and that it didn’t matter what anyone said because as long as she had Jesus then she had all she needed, and no amount of money or approval from people could take that away from her. After telling me she loved me, crying on my shoulder, and squeezing me tightly for 10 minutes, she walked away from me that day a brand new woman. That is just one example of many lives being changed.
2. MY LIFE IS BEING RADICALLY CHANGED.
When I was at home, I settled for being a mediocre christian. I didn’t have a relationship with God. I was going to church, praying when I had time, teaching Sunday school and all the typical things a good church-going christian girl should do… but there was no bond between me and Jesus. I wasn’t reading my bible, praying nearly enough, and I was giving into temptations. Since I have been on the race I have wept on my knees embracing the presence of the Lord in my life. I have read my bible everyday, and sometimes more than once a day. I have become the bride of God, and He is my bridegroom, and I plan on never leaving His side.
Example: When I was in Swaziland, we were on top of a mountain the entire month. Even though the place we were staying was a very holy place filled with God’s love, the places around it were very dark and filled with the enemy. I experienced hard spiritual warfare, thinking that I was unloved and that nobody on my squad wanted me there. I held that inside me for too long before I finally spoke it out to my squad after one of my squad-mates, Joe De Leon, came to me and told me that the Lord had placed me on his heart and that he wanted to pray for me and asked if there was anything I needed to tell the squad, that I spilled it. My whole squad laid hands on me, and prayed over me that night and after that I felt the Lord just consume my entire being. I began to pray all day long, and thank the Lord for everything. I would rejoice His presence in my life, and be joyful always. Once you have experienced that kind of breakthrough with Christ there is no turning back!
3. THE WORLD IS BEING RADICALLY CHANGED.
Whenever a person gives their heart to the Lord, He rejoices in heaven. I can just picture it, Him and His angels dancing with joy and happiness. He loves every single person on this earth and wants nothing more than to see His beloved children born again and redeemed! Leading someone to Christ is one of the most rewarding things a person can witness or be a part of. And every believer of Christ makes up the kingdom. As I previously stated, the mission of the world racers is the advance the kingdom, and spread His kingdom all over the entire world. All it takes is one person to come to know Him, and spread His word to another, so that they can spread His word, and so on and so forth, until the whole world knows of His precious and holy name. Jesus called me to “go” and spread the gospel, and I said yes.
Example: While we were in South Africa, we used one of our off days as a “street evangelizing” day. Instead of going to the streets because it was raining, we went to the biggest mall in Port Elizabeth. There we would walk up to people and just start a conversation with them, ask them if they knew the Lord and try to share the gospel with them. There were so many people that said they knew Him, but asked to know Him more so we got to pray with them. There was also a few people who truly gave their hearts to the Lord that day in the mall. It just proves that God can be used anywhere, at anytime, anyplace to advance His kingdom.
For these reasons I know the Lord has called me to be exactly where I am; on the world race. The only thing stopping me from spreading His love is $961 by December 1st to reach my deadline for my third fundraising goal, and $6,221 to be fully funded by March 1st and get to stay on the race all 11 months! I am asking that you would prayerfully consider sponsoring me monthly, or donating to me in any amount to help fund me for this awesome journey around the world to advance God’s kingdom! Your support means more to me than you know, and I couldn’t express enough thanks too all my supporters! All my love,
Kait
