A general theme in South Africa is fatherlessness.

It’s true, a lot of young children are suffering because they have no father figure.

These men, leave when they find out their women are pregnant so they don’t have to deal with the responsibility.

It’s a huge problem.

But should we just jump to the gun and categorize every man as a cheater, abandoner, bad father, abuser, etc.

Like we have the past 3 months..

No. I refuse.

A week ago, working for Impact baby rescue we went into the clinic to give the normal speech about not dumping your baby. A lot of women feel hopeless when having a child without the support of a man or a family so they decide to dump their babies in rubbish bins, chemical toilets, fields and so much more.

Our job is to go in and give them options..

So after our presentation we go around and talk to the mommas or the people in the clinics to speak truth, to give them hope, and most importantly share the love of Jesus Christ.

I came across a man, with his little boy. He was there to get his little boy immunizations; His day off was spent waiting over 4 hours to get his little boy in.

Keep in mind he was the only man in this clinic with his little boy.

He is happily married for almost 10 years, has two beautiful boys and is working to provide for his family.

He loves his children very much, he even took a picture of my teammate and I with his son and sent it right to his wife, whose name was wifey in his phone.

Yes, he was an African American

Yes, he lived in the squatter camps

And Yes, is what he said when deciding to have a family.

A strong, encouraging man is what He was.

So I refuse to put a label on every man.

I refuse to classify.

Yes, fatherlessness is a problem and it needs to be stopped.

However, this goes out to the man who said yes to his family and his children.

You have changed my heart.
You are going to bring hope.

This is something so simple but so powerful.
