There is something beautiful about differences. Often in life, we feel lead to be similar ; to buy the same things, to like the same music, to fall in love with the same type of person, to wear the same clothes. It happens to us all whether we notice or not. But in the differences of the world, we learn. We grow. There is a reason why God created us to have the same features on our face; one mouth, two eyes, one nose, yet, look so different. He did this so we may find comfort in one another: to the people under the same roof as you and those across the world from you. And just as each piano key plays a different sound, when played together a beautiful song is produced. This is what God created. This is what we are called it do.

Nepal is teaching me just this. Learning to love others through the differences. We visited an mother’s home the other day where older mothers are abandoned by their families because they are seen as a burden. We got to pray over woman with different stories. With different requests. With different beliefs. I even got to pray for a 102 Hindu year old woman despite our differences in age, religion, and looks, there was nothing but joy and laughter afterwards. She kissed our hands and gave us a blessing.

There are so many stories already that I don’t even know how to put in words yet and I can’t wait to share but for now,

I’m gonna go play some beautiful music.
