World Race definition of SQUAD: a group of 50+ young adults, ages 21-35, who travel together on the same route, meaning to the same 11 countries in 11 months; once a SQUAD arrives in the country it will be in for that month, it divides into teams of roughly 6 persons.

A  member of my squad [shout out to Ashlie Gosnell;)] thought it would be a good idea to fill out a MySpace survey, not only to give us, our squad, an opportunity to get to know each other better, but also to give our encouragers, financial supporters, followers, prayer warriors, etc. an opportunity to get to know each of us better as well.  so, enjoy!!

1. What was your favorite food as a child?
-hmmm.  mac 'n cheese?  and it may or may not still be my favorite.

2. What is the #1 most played song on your iPod?
-Well…  My iPod is broken, and has been for a while (definitely need to fix this issue before launch), so I mostly listen to Pandora, which I have zero countrol over, except for the station, but if I had to pick one song, I would say…  Home – Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros

3. What is your favorite quote?
-"Texas forever!" – Friday Night Lights  However, I'm really liking the quote Jed (another member of my squad) threw out at us the other day, "The World Race – the living conditions of Survivor, the social intimacy of Big Brother, and the itinerary of The Amazing Race!":)

4. What is your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
-indoor activity = sleeping and/or watching t.v.; outdoor activity = laying out by a pool and/or being in a boat on a lake

5. What chore do you hate?
-emptying the dishwasher, gag.

6. What is your favorite form of exercise?
-playing basketball, too bad I don't do it anymore and have yet to find another form of exercise that I enjoy  😛  but in all seriousness, I need to exercise more  :/

7. What is your favorite time of the day/day of the week/month of the year?
-time of the day = late morning/early afternoon (I'm not a morning person.); day of the week = Friday (The entire weekend awaits!); month of the year = late March/early April (Can you say Spring?!  Can you say baseball?!)

8. What is your least favorite mode of transportation?
-It's kind of embarrassing to admit, but…by foot.

9. What is your favorite body part?
-eyes

10. What sound do you love?
-the crowd at a sporting event

11. If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like, and what would it be for?
-It would be fun!  and it would most likely be a fundraising event for The World Race;)

12. If you could paint a picture of any scenery you have seen before, what would you paint?
-Ireland

13. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would you choose?
-25, I have a good feeling about 25.

14. If you knew the world was ending in 2012, what would you do differently?
-quit my job RIGHT NOW?  and just spend time with my family & friends.

15. If you could choose anyone, who would you choose as your mentor?
-Nancy Harrison (high school sophomore English teacher, high school girls Bible Study leader, and now friend) – she just shines Jesus!

16. If you could witness any event-past, present, or future-what would it be?
-Texas Rangers winning the World Series

17. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
-sing

18. If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be?
-fundraising for The World Race

19. If you were immortal for a day, what would you do?
-hmmm.  ummm.  sky dive.  I think it would be awesome, but I'm terrified to do it.  If I knew I couldn't die, I'd do it.

20. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
-Andie

21. If you could meet anyone-living or dead-who would it be?
-easy shmeazy.  Kevin James.

22. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
-pay off my car payments, pay off all of my other bills, pay off all of my student loans, and pay for The World Race

23. If you were reincarnated as an animal/drink/ice cream flavor, what would they be?
-animal = dog or giraffe; drink = coffee or sweet tea; ice cream flavor = chocolate or chocolate

24. If you could know the answer to any question besides, "What is the meaning of life," what would it be?
-Really, who is Obama?  (sorry democrats  :/)

25. If you could be any fictional character, who would it be?
-easy shmeazy.  Carrie Heffernan on the t.v. show The King of Queens.  and why?!  because, she's married to Doug Heffernan, duh.

26. What celebrity do you get mistaken for?
-Violet from The Incredibles

27. What do you want to be when you grow up?
-haha, this question just makes me laugh.  next.

28. When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you pass the time?
-eat a snack, play on my computer/phone, take a nap, watch t.v.

29. What would you name the autobiography of your life?
-Okay.  I'm an OCD writer, so if you were to ask me to title a book, especially the book of my life, I would have to think about that for days, maybe even weeks, maybe even months, maybe even years.  I'll get back to you.

30. What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?
-Okay.  Again, I'll have to get back to you.

31. Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best?
-Yes.

32. What was one of the best parties you have ever been to?
-ummm.  I love wedding receptions.  A wedding reception is always THE BEST party!!

33. What was the last book, movie, or t.v. show that made you cry?
-The last thing I watched on t.v. that made me cry was the Texas Rangers wild card game last night, just sad.  The last actual t.v. show that made me cry was…Grey's Anatomy.

34. What is the hardest thing you have ever done?
-attending Preslee's funeral, my niece who died when she was just 17 days old

35. What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
-the application process of The World Race, and accepting my acceptance to go

36. What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?
-talking back

37. When was the last time you had an amazing meal?
-mmm.  last Saturday night at Bin 303 in Rockwall, Texas.  (confession: I'm really really really going to miss food on the race.  like it may or may not be one of my fears about going.  I tend to get really really really moody when I'm hungry.)

38. What is the best/worst gift you have ever given/received?
-I'm just going to answer best gift ever received, because the other ones have me stumped.  so, best gift ever received = My parents bought me a Jeep Liberty my senior year of high school for my birthday & graduation gift, and my senior prom date picked me up in it.  AND IT HAD A BIG BOW ON IT!!  I'll never forget that my first emotion was anger.  That was NOT the Infiniti that he told me we were going to prom in.  As I was storming out of the house to tell him about it, I realized it was mine.  haha.

39. What do you miss most about being a kid?
-how my main concern was whether or not I was going to get home in time from school to watch Punky Brewster.

40. When was your first memory of being really excited?
-I know that there were times when I was really excited before this, but the one time of excitement that I can still taste like it just happened yesterday was when  my basketball team won the 3A Girls Basketball Regional Tournament to get a spot in the 3A Girls Basketball State Tournament my sophomore year of high school.

41. What was the first thing you bought with your own money?
-probably a Baby Sitters Club book.

42. When was the last time you were nervous?
-For some reason, I've been nervous all the time here lately about my job/work.  I've either been feeling like I'm going to do something wrong or whatever I do isn't going to be good enough.

43. What is something you have learned in the last week?
-that nurses make mistakes.  I'm pretty sure she gave me a flu shot instead of a steroid shot.

44. What story does your family always tell about you?
-about the time I made up the word "bastida" when I was little.  let me use it in a sentence for you – I want sweet tea bastida unsweet tea.  all these years later, and it still makes perfect sense to me. 

45. At what age did you become an adult?
-Honestly, I still don't consider myself an adult, which is just one of the many reasons that I chose to embark on this journey.
