Jaya Masi! Today is our very last day in Kathmandu. In just a couple of hours my entire squad and I will be heading to Vietnam. I wanted to give you all a brief update on our travel plans and some info regarding my blogs for the next month while in Vietnam. Our first stop will be our overnight stay in the Abu Dhabi airport in the United Arab Emirates. The next morning we’ll be on our way to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, where we’ll stay for a couple of days and try our best to celebrate Thanksgiving all together as a squad. On the 28th the squad will break out and head to their team’s assigned ministry location. My team, TEAM XENA, will be heading to Da Nang which is in the northern coastal region of Vietnam where we’ll be teaching English at a school and coming alongside a local church.
Vietnam is a closed country, meaning the word “missionary” is having to be completely eliminated from our vocabulary during our time spent there. Openly professing Christ and sharing the Gospel would be putting ourselves at risk so because of that while we’re in Vietnam and posting blogs we have to put a password on them. We will still be able to blog but in order to read them you’ll need to know the password. I will try my best to email every one of my supporters with that password when the time comes as well as posting on facebook the information.
I also wanted to say thank you to so many of you who have been praying fervently for me and my team and squad. This past month was, well, interesting to say the least. The majority of us battled sickness with parasites and bacterial infections in our tummies but are now on the up and up. We learned a lot of lessons and saw the Lord move in new ways in our lives and in the lives of the Nepali people surrounding us. We’re expectant for what God plans on doing in Vietnam and his heart for them as a nation. Keep on praying for us, that we would persevere and continue to fight the good fight. Also, please continue to pray for the Nepali people and their government and pray for the people of Vietnam that their hearts would be prepared to hear about Christ and to experience the love he has for them.
Keep a look out for an update coming soon with the password info.
Godspeed, Kacy <3
