Hello from Dondo, Mozambique everybody! My team and I are spending this month working with Iris Ministries and my gosh has the Lord shown up in ways that I never thought were possible. Excited to hear my stories??… well I will give you a glimpse of what we have experienced.

On Tuesdays our team gets together and we walk down to the hospital and we pray over the patients that the Lord will heal them. Our favorites to pray over are the children because the Lord really gives us His compassion for them and breaks our heart for them and their family members that lovingly surround them. These mothers are so desperate to see their children healed that they would go to the village witchdoctor and where they would receive twine or rope that had been cursed with evil spirits to heal their children. These babies that are dying of Malaria had rope tied around their ankles or their stomachs which would surround them by evil spirits and demons rather than the healing love of the Lord. It was amazing to be able to talk to their mothers and tell them that these ropes are worthless and that the only place to find freedom and healing was from Jesus Christ. We would cut the ropes from the children and then put them in a pile and burn them after we prayed for them.

Another cool experience with the Holy Spirit was when we prayed over a prisoner who was having seizures every 20 minutes so they brought him out of prison to treat him at the hospital. Lovemore our translator has the Lord’s anointing on his life and God has gifted him with spiritual discernment.. and as soon as he walked in the room he felt a spirit of crime and sin over this man… and he knew that the only thing that would save and heal him was that he needed to confess his sins to the Lord. Lovemore began walking through confession with him.. and as soon as the prisoner said the name Jesus he began to seize again. My team and I began to pray for freedom and peace to overcome him so that he would stop shaking and seizing… and after a few seconds his body calmed down and he was able to rest again. Because of the seizures, the man’s right side of his body was paralyzed and he could not walk or move it. We kept praying, and then all of a sudden Lovemore looked right at me and told me to command his dry bones to walk again. My faith was being tested right then and there… I stood up and walked over to him and knelt down to pray over his paralyzed leg. I prayed for faith, I prayed for the Lord to breath life into this man, that he could walk in freedom from his sin and know what it means to be released out of bondage and finding freedom in the Lord. I’m not exactly sure if our prayers were answered… but a few days later we returned to the hospital and the man had been released. So praise the Lord that he was not still in the hospital suffering from seizures.

One of my favorite ministries that we do is prison ministry here with Iris. We are allowed into the prison where over a hundred men gather around and worship the Lord with their whole hearts. They have so much joy singing and dancing for the Lord.. . and for the hour that we are there we don’t even feel like we are in the midst of stone walls, locked inside with guards all around. We feel like we are joining in on an intimate moment with the Lord where his children are filled with uncontrollable joy and the only thing that they can do is sing and dance because of the love that they are receiving from God. We have a chance to deliver a message of hope to them… and at the end of our time there… we saw at least 20 men give their lives over to the Lord. Praise the Lord!!! Even though they are locked up in chains.. they are free in Christ!

I feel like the Lord has already taught me so much on this journey and I am only 6 months in. I feel like I have gained a ton of valuable lessons from living in community with one another as well as what it looks like to live in the presence of the Lord and to walk in the Holy Spirit. At the end of this month I have a support deadline due of $14,300 and I’m only $2,500 away from my goal Praise the Lord! If you felt led to support me financially the rest of the way then I would greatly appreciate it.. but even more than that I would appreciate your prayers… the devil has been attacking me in many areas where I am weak.. so I could use to be bathed in prayer right now. It’s getting hard and real.. and the enemy knows my potential and he is playing dirty and getting me where it hurts the most and where he knows I am the weakest. I need your prayers.. I need you to battle for me in the spiritual realm. Thank you all. I’m praying for you and just know that I am missing ya’ll dearly. Ya’ll are loved!
