If you've been following Jesus for an hour or a lifetime, you may have experienced something like what I'm experiencing now.
When the great deceiver tries to discourage the Lord's believers…
To put it lightly, I've had a rough week, and Satan is definitely trying to take advantage.
Here are some of the lies I'm hearing lately:
God can't possibly be calling me to The World Race, because:
I'm not outgoing enough
I am never going to be able to fundraise $14,800.00
I'm not social enough
I don't have enough knowledge
My past discredits anything I could share with others about the Lord now
(He wouldn't call someone like me)
I'm not energetic enough
I'm not loyal enough
I'm not prepared
I'm not equipped
I'm not charismatic enough
I don't have a big enough support system
I'm too prideful
I should be working instead
I should seek higher education instead
It is irresponsible
It is selfish (there's too much I should be doing at home)
the list goes on…
and frankly, I've had
Enough!
I'm under attack, and I need my brothers and sisters to be praying with me, but I will not falter because I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me.
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future,
nor any powers,
neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39
God doesn't call the equipped, none of us are equipped (See John 15:5).
He equips the called.
Here's how I see it: If Satan is making a visible effort in your life to deter you from following something you believe the Lord has called you to, ask for prayer support, and be encouraged! it means he feels threatened enough by your devotion to God that he feels the need to intervene.
Hey satan, bring it on. This is war, and my God already has victory.
