Hi! I'm Kacie, or Kacie Lynn, or K.Lynn…take your pick. I was born in San Diego, California; I learned to walk and talk in Chattanooga, Tennessee (sadly, no southern accent remains); and I've lived most of my life in northern Virginia about 15 miles outside of the District of Columbia.
in short: I heard about Jesus my whole life, I met Jesus when I was 19. I've been through a lot of rough stuff, I put myself through a lot of rough stuff; and those statements can both be translated to, "The LORD has delivered me from a lot of rough stuff," (Amen). A lot of my past is revealed in my blogs, along with a lot of my present and a little bit of my future 🙂 so, for now we'll stick with some background:
Family:
My Mama: is the most amazing mama in the world. The day before I got my launch date for the world race, my mom was diagnosed with stage 3C Ovarian Cancer. She and I both knew I still had to race, so I launched confident that our Father had my mom in His hands – and He has! My mom is one of my best friends in the world and I couldn't be more proud of how bravely she's fought cancer and how much joy she's had the whole time regardless of her circumstances! Mama, you're the best and you inspire me!
My dad: is a superhero. Have you seen "Taken"? because if anything were to happen to me on the race…my dad would quickly remind you of that movie. Seriously, though, my dad's the goofiest guy in the world and he loves my family fiercely. I can never thank him enough for the amount of love he has for us
My parents worked together in a music store when they were were 18 and 24, got married at 19 and 25, and are still best friends most of the time. Any night of the week you can find them playing a game, judging SYTYCD like pros or watching jeopardy in their living room, biking around the neighborhood looking for the perfect spot to watch the sunset from, singing/playing a duet while arguing about the mechanics of arpeggios and chord progressions behind their pianos and guitars (we have multiples of each in my house)… They love to love and they love to have fun, and I like to think they've passed both of those down to me!
Sister and Brother-In-Law: Shannon and Will. These two are a huge part of my support system, they give me encouragement and prayer and point me to the Lord in every conversation we have. I go to them for wisdom, to laugh, to cry, anything. They have two THREE beautiful children and I adore them! (I am the luckiest aunt ever because they seem to adore me, too!) I am so thankful for their whole family.
Brother: Cody. I don't know if it's possible to describe the love older sisters have for their younger brothers, but my brother is the most important boy (I guess since he's 21 22 and married, I should stop calling him that?) in my world. He's got an incredible heart and is the funniest person I know, and his growing love and knowledge for and of the Lord are amazing for me to watch.
*Edit* and Sister-In-Law: Diane. That girl. I couldn't be prouder that she has my last name now! My brother's now-wife has been part of my family for almost six years already, maybe more – she loves the Lord, she loves my brother, and she has more fun than you do (probably) so you should try to get to know her. It's a good life choice.
I basically have the best siblings in the world. Shannon, Will, Cody, and Diane – I love you.
