Every delay has a purpose.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned out here on this Race, it’s that.
Delays humble us.
Delays expose the ugliest parts of us.
Delays remind us that we really can’t control all the things we think we can.
And if you look hard enough into them…even beyond the things the Lord is trying to expose in you…you’ll find it.
You’ll find the encounter He wants you to have.
Last Friday, we had two girls groups scheduled to depart at 10:30 a.m.
At 10:30, one bus showed up…and we got a phone call that the other bus was late..so the second group would be leaving at 11:30.
Being the shade seeker that I am, I walked back up the hill to the hostel where covering could be found.
A few seconds after I sat down, Mark, one of the main workers of the hostel, walked out and sat down with me.
“It’s about to get quiet around here again…”
“Yeah, it is…I’m gonna miss you guys…” He responded.
“Really?”
“Yeah…you guys just have a really cool presence about you…your whole group…and you’re just so nice to one another…it’s really special…” He paused for a minute. “It’s changed my life.”
He smiled, and then got up and walked away.
You’re just so nice to one another…
That’s what he noticed…
We forget sometimes that people are watching the way we treat each other…
And that how we treat one another will set us apart…
Never have I seen the following scripture play out as much as I did that day:
“I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another. By THIS shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you love one another (if you keep on showing love among yourselves).” John 13:34-35
Thank-You, Lord, for one heck of a delay.
