Today we leave Ecuador.

I exchange Ecuador for Peru.

  • A house for a tent.
  • A bed for a sleeping bag.
  • A hot shower for God only knows what.
  • The mountains for sand dunes.
  • Living with 20 people for living with 60 people.
  • Ministry I'd gotten comfortable with for a mystery ministry that could get me even further outside my comfort zone.

Many exchanges to be made, but the things I get to keep:

  • My God. (Awesomeness)
  • My teammates whom I absolutely adore. (like really, really adore)
  • My body spray. (Others will be rejoicing for this one as well :))

The things we're asked to give up are nothing compared to the things we get to keep. Honestly, if there's one thing I've been reassured of this month, it's this: It does not matter where you are…when the Lord is with you and you learn how to delight in Him, life is just good. There is no "if only…" or "what if…" that will make life worth living. He's it. His blessings bring enjoyment. But HE brings joy…

Travel day begins in 12 hours. Overnight bus to a border town between Ecuador and Peru. Stay in border town for 10-12 hours. Take another overnight bus to small town in Peru. And then…set up a TENT. Prayers are greatly appreciated 🙂
