Hey it has been a long time since I have posted a blog on here but I really have felt the need to update everyone on what God has in store for me over the next couple of months. So as most of you are aware I left Gap Year after Malaysia for a couple of reasons with some of them being personal. If you would like me to further elaborate on that feel free to email me [email protected] or text me 240-587-9066 and I would love to explain my decision fully with you. After my team got back in May, AIM (adventures in missions) hosted a Project SearchLight (PSL) for all of the people that had gone on gap year from September through May. This was towards the end of June and I attended and used the opportunity to reconnect with some of my team and say some final hard goodbyes. Another reason I decided to go was to see if God would reveal to me what He had in store for my life in the immediate future. I had heard about World Race America (WRA) while I was on the field in Thailand and had considered it but was not planning on doing it since I was currently starting to struggle on the field. Fast forward to my time at PSL and I had the opportunity to hear one of the people that is running WRA, Teresa, tell a personal story and talk a little about the trip. I then decided to start praying about wether or not I should go on the trip and for God to clearly reveal to me what I was to do. After a few days of deliberation on the last day of PSL God answered my prayer and I felt the need to sign up. Later that day I meet with Teresa and talked to her about my race and what God had been showing me throughout the week and that there was no doubt in my mind that this was the next step that I was supposed to take. She was really nice about it and after the short interview I was accepted! I had less than a week from the time I got back home from PSL until the time I launched for WRA to prepare to fly out to Oregon to meet my team for the first time. This was more than enough time to say some goodbyes and prepare myself for the upcoming months. So here I am writing to you from Oregon after just getting here a few days ago and I could not be more excited to see how the next few months are going to go and all the work my team will be able to accomplish. Most importantly though it will be amazing to see the impact we will have on others peoples lives and the chance to bring others to Christ. As some of you might be aware one of my teammates from gap year, Ben, is also doing WRA but he broke his leg a couple days ago. If you think of him say a prayer that he will heal fast and have a decrease in pain. I’ll keep you all updated, probably better than the last race of what I’m up to, but we’ll have to wait and see if that actually happens. Also, I need to fundraise $3500 in order to stay out on the field through November. If you feel led to donate that would be so appreciated and you’ll be able to see how your money has gone to use though my blogs. Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to read this blog, even though its a little bit all over the place and don’t forget to lift up Ben when you think about him.
