Getting back from the village and returning to Chang Mai the past week was a surprisingly easy adjustment. My team spent the first three days back working on an international school that is expected to open next year. It was cool being able to have work with another team, Soul Warriors. The work was very diverse as we were able to do a different task each day. The first day I dug out a drainage trench that had been washed in with dirt. The next day I got to destroy some old tile sinks. On the last day I ripped out canvas from a high ceiling (20ft) and also got to remove old ceiling tiles. Lunches were a major highlight of the ministry day eating chicken fried rice and if that does not fancy you enough we also discovered some scorpions and mice. Next stop is Malaysia which we will be leaving for in a day. If you asked me to some up my time in Thailand with 10 words I would say.
- Hot- almost every day was 90F
- Sweaty- Thai people do not sweat since it reaches over 115F in March
- Caring- never went thirsty or hungry here
- Bright- ties in with the climate and also peoples joy of life
- Passionate- people are really hard workers here working 6-7 days a week
- Cheap- 32B=1$ and you could find a good meal for 40-50B
- Tasty- not everybody is as thankful about rice as I am but there’s noodles also
- Impactful- seeing the joy from the kids at Agape & the village
- Fulfilling- so satisfying to see all the work our team finished
- Friendly- very warm culture, people say hi even if they do want to be your taxi
