Do you know how great our God is? Truly, look deep within yourself. Do you believe it? I am not sure I fully held onto a firm understanding of God until recently. Look around, God has proven himself time and again and mystery still ensues within many of us if God is really there and if is faithful to provide.
Take a moment right now to look around. What do you see? What can you feel? What is evident that is so clearly invisible? For me, I see the Las Vegas Strip. The dazzling lights and glamour of “Sin City” shine bright and yet, there is a so much going on down there. What you see is the “wow factor” of an entertainment city, coupled with the indulgent pleasures of the mind. It is mix that is accepted today but is secretly toxic. Nevertheless, the inescapable thing I see when I look at the Las Vegas Strip is the glory of God being brought down there. Say What????????? That’s right, you heard me right. Did you know that there is a prostitution ministry in the heart of the Las Vegas strip, freeing woman from the depths of devious self-worth. There are ministries up and down the strip shining the light of Jesus in what can be such a darkening place. Looking beyond the material expanse of what man has made, I see the brown mountains circling around the city. I am in awe. On a clear day, the stunning beauty of the painted mountains only can scream “JESUS WAS HERE!!!!” God is there is the furry of the drought and in the despair of the storm. He created this vast wasteland of dirt for Him. Sure the scenery can be numbing at times but that is only due to my own inerrant loss to perceive God’s creation. He is present in the workings of this creation. Now take an ever broader scope. What do you see, feel or know that is clearly invisible? What I know is that God has provided enough gravity for me to be able to walk and spread this gospel to the ends of the Earth. I am not floating and I certainly am not being crushed by the weight of gravity. It is as though gravity is the supernatural touch of God upon each and every one of us. Look around. We are able to wondrously move around for the glory of the Father because he applied just the right amount of pressure for us to sustain perfectly in union with Him. What else do you see, feel, or know that is clearly invisible? I know that right now I should be dizzy or sick from the nauseating speed planet Earth is spinning right now and yet, I remarkably feel nothing. Weird huh? That has to be God.
To think that what we can see, feel or know something that is clearly invisible is amazing! In fact, knowing that what we perceive is only the tip of the iceberg is overwhelming.
We are each adorned children of the King of Kings. We are bought with a price and it is not just another “Christian” thing to say. Really do you believe in Him? Do you believe in the power of the Cross? There is eternal victory for those who do. 1 Corinthians 1:18 states “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” Do not be captivated by the story and appeals Satan is throwing your way. Let me remind you what Romans 10:4 states “For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.” God has a plan for your life. So in the midst of trials do not think that God is punishing you. God is testing you. Better yet, he is refining you for the battles that lay ahead. He is training you up in righteousness and in steadfastness. If medical problems come your way, hold on to Jesus. In Romans 7 Paul begs God to take away the “thorn in his flesh.” This is characterized a problem to keep Paul humble. So I plead you with you to endure to trial and seek God out. He has never turned his back from any who earnestly have sought after His name! Pray with power, believe in the impossible and never lose sight of the one who should reign first in your life.
I know that God is good. Just like He allowed Job to endure various afflictions, so he will allow us to prove faithful to Him. Remember, Satan is lingering at the door, casting seeds of doubt and tireless problems before each and every one of us. If this is God’s call for your life, not matter how perfect it fits in your life plan, do not run from it. When the Spirit says go, believe He is worthy. The plan is beautiful and the creator is even more wonderful. Become overwhelmed with Christ because He is going to do use your glorious ruins and messes to bring effectual glory back to Him. He is greater than we could ever surpass to understand and I pray that you would truly seek the kingdom of God and become “overwhelmed” by him!!
