Indonesia has been an incredible start to the world race, and God has done some truly incredible things already. I met a young man named Dony at YASAH Orphanage in Medan, Indonesia. He goes to the school ran by the orphanage, and our team has been going a few times a week to the school to hang out with the students and build relationships with them. Dony immediately came and introduced himself to us. He speaks English fairly well (better than most of the students), and actually became our main translator at the school so that we could also talk to other students who didn’t speak much English. Through Dony being our translator, a great relationship has been built with him, and in turn he began to share his story with us.

When I showed up in Indonesia, I planned to be the one inspiring and bringing hope to others, but instead, I am somehow the one being inspired and reminded of the hope of Christ. I believe that Dony’s story needs to shared, and that it will bring hope to the hopeless, and it will serve as a reminder that God is moving in the lives of people all over the world. It was such a blessing to get to meet Dony and to hear about his life. I know that I will never forget this kid, and I believe the best is yet to come. Please join me in praying that Dony’s future will be full of God’s promises and plans for him.

Here is a small glimpse of his story, and what God is doing in his life.
