Well the month of India is over and our team has moved onto our next country….NEPAL! To be honest coming into Nepal, there were only two things that I knew of it: Mt. Everest and Sherpas (and possibly Yeti’s!). So far though the country has been incredible! Nepal is a country of epic beauty-the landscape, the climate, the people…EVERYTHING!
This month we have been working with Megh Gurung and his family. They live in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal! Megh, or Uncle Megh as we refer to him, is an amazing Christian leader within the community. He is one of the pastors within the local church and also helps with the youth and other community outreach activities. In addition to this, Uncle Megh is a trekker (not to be confused with a trekkie…) and has led treks to Everest Base camp and throughout Nepal. A vital part of his ministry is sharing the gospel with those he guides on treks as well as trekkers that he meets along the way. Uncle Megh’s love for nearly everyone that he meets has been a huge encouragement for our team!

So far this month we have been doing a wide variety of things. Here is a quick rundown of some of things we’ve done so far: encouraged the local church by attending morning prayer meetings, preached in church, taught English praise and worship songs to youth, distributed nearly 1,000 Christian tracts throughout local villages, prayed for the sick and disabled (stories to come!), taught English as “guest” teachers in a local private school, prayed at a Buddhist Monastery, talked religion with a Buddhist monk in training.
As you can see this month has been busy and our work has varied! I’ll continue to keep y’all updated with more stories and updates as they come! Please continue to keep Fruit of the Groom in your prayers as we minister to the Nepalese people and continue to share the love of Christ! God Bless!
