Before the race and during the first 3 months of it I have to admit that I never really gave cambodia any thought. When looking at my route, countries like Australia, Nepal, and India are the ones that stood out to me. Cambodia was sort of like that kid in the back of the classroom just being quiet and not saying much.

Fast forward to right now, month 4 of the race and the second week in Cambodia. I have new teammates, a new role as far as responsibility on my team, but most importantly a new perspective of Cambodia, and the amazing things God is doing here.

I was in the city for the first 3 months of the race. I have never spent this much time in the city ever in my life. I desperately needed to get into the country and breath the clean free air. God always provides me with what my heart needs just when I am about to break. Cambodia is a beautiful country. Flooded rice fields, and palm trees make a stunning view. The hustle and bustle of the city is non-existent here. The people here live at a slower and more intentional pace. Laughter is in abundance, as well as joy and love.

Our ministry involves teaching english classes, and holding bible studies for the youth here. Seeing 3-5 year old children get excited when we walk in the room to teach is a feeling that is not really describable. There are always laughing and smiling faces. The kids always want hugs and will make you swing them around by their arms until you're both so dizzy you can't stand. The best part of it all, is that they love Jesus! They love singing songs about him and hearing stories about him. We get to teach them bible songs on Sundays and have them pray at the end of their classes. Being in the midst of a classroom full of adorable, Cambodian children, singing songs about Jesus, is something that can bring joy to the hardest of hearts. I highly recommend it if you ever get the opportunity. Living here is the most alive I have ever felt in my life.

I wake up every morning when the rooster crows, literally. I walk out the door to greetings from the family dogs. There are roosters, hens, and chicks running around at all times. There are cows giving me funny looks as I walk past them while they do their duty of cutting the grass. There are ducks, and geese, and pigs too. I am surrounded by Gods' creation here at all times.

The views here are incredible. The sunsets do not look real, seriously they look like a painting, and they are, Gods' the artist. He brings amazing sunsets to this place. There is no light pollution from street lights here so you can see every star in the sky on cloudless nights. If you ever get the chance to come to the farmlands of Cambodia, do it. It is one of the most amazing places I have ever had the privilege of seeing. I am truly a blessed man, I am living out a dream. I would never be here if not for the Grace of God.

God calls many of us to do the necessary work that brings the Kingdom of Heaven to the earth. Some of us are called to be in the field and some to support and disciple those to be send out.

I am still short of the final financial deadline. I must be fully funded by March 1 or I will have to come home. Please, if you feel any tug in your heart to support me financially click the “Donate” link under my picture to the left. I have $11,200 right now, but I still need about $4,300 to be fully funded. Without people like you, I would not be here right now. Thank you so much to everyone that has supported me thus far. I am truly blessed to have your support.
