India was everything I was not expecting it to be.  I always heard the stories from India about the not so pleasant sights and smells. There is so much more to this country than the negative things.

The people here are amazing.  They are full of life and hope, and are all searching for something greater than themselves. Most turn to the hindu temples and to gods made of stone and wood for this fulfillment.   This is one of the reasons we are here.  Because I know first hand of the love and grace of the one true God, I have the very strong desire to share this knowledge and good news with others.  God has blessed me this month with the opportunity to work with IGM in south India serving in various ways such as outreach to local villages and speaking at branch churches.

One village in particular homes a Gypsy community.  As we pulled into the village, a wave of kids approached our group.  We were surrounded by smiling faces, little hands and feel and a strong sense of Joy.  This kids had more energy than anyone I have ever seen in my life.  I threw kids in the air and swung them around in circles until my arms were sore.

We then walked through the village and handed out tracks and bibles to the adults and teenagers.  I got to pray for many people and gave them invitations to come and watch the Jesus film we would be showing a little later.  This is such a great way to share the good news.  Everyone loves a good movie and having the story of our savior in movie form is a great way to reach the hearts of a large group of people at once.  During the movie one of the little girls approached me and sat in my lap to watch the movie.  These moments like this are what makes a Mans heart melt.  The whole time I prayed over her life and for the Lord to pursue her and keep her path lit and straight.

After the movie people always line up for prayer.  I have never seen people so eager for prayer, I feel honored and blessed to be able to pray for these people and to ask The Lord to come into their lives.  We then got to give out rice and bread.  Being able to tell them about Jesus and then bless them with food is amazing and lets them know that they are loved and cared about.

As we were packing everything up to leave the little girl that sat in my lap during the movie came up and hugged me and gave me a beaded necklace.  They normally sell these to make money for food.  This little girl, not having anything at all but the clothes on her back, gave me a gift.  This was one of the most humbling things to ever happen to me.  It made me realize how fortunate we all are and how to truly follow lord, you truly do need to become like a child.  Matthew 18:3-4 says “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.  So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
