I serve, a lot. I help out at my church, I serve in the youth ministry, I am on the worship band, I am the tech director, I have been the interim youth leader (youth pastor), I’ve played on a worship team in front of hundreds of people.
Why am I bragging? I’m not….
Because I struggled with pride the entire time. I thought it was so cool that God needed me in all these areas.
It was exciting that I was getting all these opportunities…
But I was missing something. It was a big something. One of those obvious somethings you’re embarrassed to admit…
Why would the all powerful, omnipotent, creator of the universe need me?
He doesn’t…
my flaws are innumerable. I have a massive list:
I’ve sinned while in positions of leadership,
I’m oblivious,
I have a G.E.D.,
I haven’t finished college,
I’ve lied,
I’ve cheated,
I’ve stolen…
to name a few
Yet, that same God… is using me to spread the love of Jesus to 11 different countries in the coming year, not because He needs me to…
Because He wanted ME.
HE WANTS YOU…
Let that sink in. He loves us, He sees how rewarding it is to serve Him. So He asks us, he begs us…
He dies for us…
Not because we have done ANYTHING
just for the simple fact that He loves us
So that we can enjoy Him and everything He has in store for us. It’s all about Him, and He makes that worth everything.
Be encouraged fellow servants and Racers:
God wants you, in your filth and muck and blood and sin. Because He sees you right now as redeemed and new and clean and Holy!!! Through the blood of Jesus!
See yourselves as this as well!!! Move on from the old life you had. Jesus did NOT die for you to be needed!!!
And then God says, “Come with me, I love you, just follow me and I will take care of everything, i’ll show you how to love others, i’ll show you how to care, I’ll show you HOW TO SERVE…
Only because I want you…”
