I had no idea what to expect coming to training camp and apparently
that was intentional. I’ve been learning that I need to not have any
expectations for the world race because you never know what is going
to happen. In fact, our route has already changed…we are no longer
going to Egypt and Israel due to political unrest and safety, instead
Nicaragua and Guatemala have been tagged on to the end of or trip.
This is definitely ok in my book as i haven been to central america
and I can practice my Spanish as well! We haven’t learned much about
the cultures and countries other that little fact sheets they put on
our table. Actually the food being served here is to mimic very
closely the food we will…and so far it has. We’ve had some pretty
humble breakfasts that consists of just a slice of bread and butter.

On a more serious note, I’ve learned a lot about myself…when you are
put in such close quarters with a w bunch of strangers, your strengths
and weaknesses are really magnified. I am extremely surprised with
out much I like everyone on my squad. We find out our smaller teams
today and who we will be traveling with for the next 11 months, and
I’m pretty confident that I will be happy with whoever ends up on my
team.
