The World Race is obviously a very unique thing.

I’ve never heard of anything else like it. It’s intense. You go to alot of places and do alot of stuff.

That’s pretty apparent. What’s not so apparent is that this trip is more about relationship than anything else.

When you go on this trip, you have a team. When you go to all those places and do all that stuff, your team comes with you….for eleven months, if all is well.

That’s alot of time with the same people, especially if you’re not married to them.

It’s pretty crazy, but it’s not without its reward. Close relationships bring joy and transformation when they’re done the right way.

People impact us. That’s how God intended it to be.

The center of the Kingdom of God is relationship and family. God is the father on the throne, Jesus is the son at His right hand, and we are the bride that He is going to marry.

It’s one big family.

And over the course of these eleven months, I’m going to meet some more of my family. People that I never knew existed. People that have huge hearts. People that will probably change my life forever.

I am very proud to say that I have already met some of my family.

Our hosts here in Huaticocha are a couple named Ivan and Nanci, who have a son named Isaac.

These people cook for us, clean for us, drive us where we need to be, minister with us, work with us, worship with us, joke with us, pray for us, and put up with our loud team time every night.

I love them very much. And they love the people in Huaticocha.

I think they literally know every person that lives here, which is probably a few hundred. And they are longing for the day when God awakens every heart in this town.

They have already taught me so much. I have seen Jesus in their hearts and let me tell you, He is beautiful.

We leave in four days, and I don’t even want to think about it.

These people have left a mark.

Maybe the most difficult part of the race will be meeting my family and saying good bye a month later. All I can say is that I’m glad I got to meet them at all.
