I recently made a video. Check it out.
^ That right there is a failure… ^
…and I am very happy with it.
*BOOM CLICK-BAITED*
Before our squad met up with April Expedition squad for a shared debrief in Karakol, Kyrgyzstan at the end of month seven, I decided I wanted to make a video.
I wanted to create something very specific, and that video you just watched looks nothing like what I had in mind.
I could go into details of the failure, but that’s all you need to know. Instead I just want tell you one thing:
If you want to learn,
if you want to grow,
if you want to change,
if you want to create,
you have to fail.
I came into debrief with one idea and it just did not work out. There were multiple points in that week I wanted to give up on it. Even beginning editing was thoroughly upsetting. Instead, making a unique and honest recap video is how I unleashed my pent up creative frustration.
I think this video is my greatest creative failure on the World Race.
I also believe this video is the greatest creative success on the World Race.
It’s an real look at what a debrief is like. It tells you the feelings I experience.
I hope you enjoyed my most recent failure!
There will be many more to come.
